Kano AG Takes Part in NBA Justice Sector Roundtable, Promised Access to Justice.

The Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, on Monday participated as a discussant at the Justice Sector Stakeholders’ Roundtable organized by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ungogo Branch.

The event, which held at the High Court of Justice Conference Hall, Audu Bako Secretariat, Kano, was themed “The Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009: Compliance, Breaches and Emerging Challenges.” It brought together key stakeholders in the justice sector to deliberate on challenges affecting the enforcement of fundamental rights in Nigeria.

In his remarks, Maude emphasized that fundamental rights remain the cornerstone of democratic governance and the rule of law. He called for greater institutional commitment, effective inter-agency collaboration, and strict adherence to the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009 to ensure justice delivery.

In a press release signed by his media aid Abubakar Tijjani Ibrahim reiterated the commitment of the Attorney General of the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to improving access to justice and promoting ongoing justice sector reforms in the state.

The Attorney-General also reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to strengthening access to justice and deepening justice sector reforms across the state.

The NBA Ungogo Branch commended Maude for his participation and insightful contributions, noting that his interventions enriched discussions and advanced understanding of rights enforcement challenges.
