TikTok User ‘Danhabu Muryar Arewa’ Arraigned in Kano Court Over Alleged Incitement
The police have arraigned a young man, Abubakar Ibrahim, popularly known on TikTok as Danhabu Muryar Arewa, before Magistrate Court No. 7 in Kano, presided over by Magistrate Halima Wali.
According to reports by Arewa Updates, the young man is facing charges of inciting public disturbance, defamation, and actions capable of breaching public peace.
During the court session, the charges were read to him, but he pleaded not guilty to all the allegations.
The court subsequently ordered that he be remanded in a correctional facility until March 30, 2026, when the case will continue.
Abubakar Ibrahim is accused of posting a video on his TikTok page, Danhabu Muryar Arewa, in which he allegedly called on people to stage a protest in Kano and attack certain ethnic groups as a form of retaliation for killings reportedly being carried out against Hausa people in the southern part of the country.
The video allegedly caused fear and panic among residents, prompting security authorities to take action against him.
The development comes at a time when stakeholders and community leaders are intensifying efforts to maintain peace and stability across the country.
